English Manor House Wedding at De Vere Horsley Estate

Watch Michaela and Steve’s reflective, personal and authentic wedding film from the De Vere Horsley Estate (Horsley Towers), Surrey.

A Love That Transformed Everything

Michaela and Steve—The Chadds—crafted a day that was rich with emotion, vulnerability, and quiet strength. At the heart of their Horsley Towers wedding was a love story years in the making. During the speeches, Steve turned to Michaela and said, “You saved my life. If I hadn’t met you, I wouldn’t be here today.” It was a moment no one in the room will forget.

Set against the dramatic gothic backdrop of De Vere Horsley Estate in Surrey, their celebration was an elegant, low-key winter wedding with an undercurrent of deep personal meaning. This wasn’t just a wedding—it was a reflection of resilience, partnership, and profound gratitude.

De Vere Horsley Estate: Perfect Setting for Winter Weddings

Also known as Horsley Towers, this magnificent manor house wedding venue brought a sense of fairytale grandeur to the day. Towering turrets, carved archways, and soft natural light filled each room, providing a cinematic backdrop for this November celebration. Despite the moody skies and unexpected weather shifts, the venue's charm held strong, adding both drama and romance to every frame.

Crafting a Natural Wedding Videography with Cinematic Feel

Michael and Steve asked for a film that would feel unintrusive, yet deeply personal—a piece that told their story with authenticity and elegance. Their vision was for something discreet on the day but rich in emotional storytelling in the edit. They didn’t want anything flashy—just the real moments, the spoken words, and the small gestures that meant everything.

Working closely with them, we planned a morning letter exchange—a tender moment of quiet reflection before the day unfolded. Despite the rain and biting November chill, we made the most of every break in the weather, capturing short, efficient portrait sessions without ever making them feel rushed or uncomfortable.

One of the standout moments was their first dance, where I coordinated the gold confetti cannons to explode on cue. It was important to both Michael and Steve that this moment felt magical—and it did. The golden flurry, the timing, the music—it all came together for an unforgettable scene.

The Moment That Stood Out

While the emotional speeches were undeniably powerful, my favourite moment to capture was the confetti-filled first dance. Coordinating that moment so it happened perfectly on cue allowed me to frame it in the most cinematic way possible. The gold against the soft lighting, the way they held each other—it was pure, heart-stopping beauty.

“I've had many bridal party members commented how he brought great energy, put everyone at ease and ultimately just felt part of the group on the day!

And then there is the film, wow wow wow - we feel like movie stars! We're still bewildered how he got certain shots, and the way he has created a narrative using our ceremony, vows, and speeches is a masterpiece - every detail is so thoughtfully curated.

You won't regret booking Luke, and the videos will take you back to a day that goes by way to fast again and again and again!”
